Job switch during I-140 amendment in-progress

Hello,

My I-140 is approved (its been more than 6 months), but my employer has filed an amendment i.e. successor-in-interest, as my employer is acquired by another company.

My questions are:

1. It is okay to do job switch when I-140 amendment is in-progress or shall I wait for amendment to complete?

2. Would I be able to get H-1B extension with new employer, as my I-140 amendment (successor-in-interest) is in-progress with current employer?
