Can I file H4 separately while Employer of my husband is filing H1 extension?

Hello all,

My employer is filing H1B extension for my husband, both of ours visa expires on same date around Nov 2017. Employer is asking for $1200 for H4 extension and $1000 for H4 EAD. Can we file my H4 extension and H4 EAD ourselves separately while H1b extension of my husband is dispatched from employer's attorney's office? Or we will have to wait for my husband's approved H1B extension and then only I can send application for my H4 and H4 EAD? Please advise. Thank you.

Yes, you can do it on your own once you get your husband H-1 receipt. Simple process. You will save more than $1300.

Yes, you can do it with receipt. In the I-539, you need to fill out (Part 3. processing information) questions. 3 a,b,c,d,e and f.

Hello, 

Can you  or some one share your experience here, on applying H4 with H1B receipt notice. 

I am transferring H1B to new employer and he charges for both H4 and H4-EAD, for 2k+. I am also thinking to submit H4 and H4-EAD for my spouse after H1B. New employer is doing H1B in PP and my wife is currently in US. Existing H1B and H4 expires by Oct 2020. Thanks.
