H4 after I-485 filing

Hello,
I have a pending I-485 as a dependent on spouse's pending AOS application (EB1b). I am currently "out of status" but in a period of authorized stay.
After getting AP, can I travel to India and come back on H4 (my husband has a valid H1B)?
Couple of reasons for doing that - 
1. In case H4 gets denied, I can enter on AP
2. H4 will re-set 180 day clock to allow refiling I-485 if it gets denied (under 245k).
Any thoughts or personal experience are much appreciated.
