Promotion and Perm filling

Hi, my company has filled for my Perm application. My h1b is valid till march 2018. I recently got promoted to a SR QC analyst position from a qc analyst position. My attorneys were about to file for my h1 b addendum. But I was asked by my company management to interview for a supervisor / management position. Today I found out I got that job and my start date will be early September. How 'll this impact my gc process. As I understand I would need I 140 approved for h1 b extension. Even if my Perm gets approved on time my company 'll have to start over with the filling process n that 'll delay i140 approval n hence my h1 b extension. Do I have to give up on this great opportunity or is there a way to make this work.
