Travel outside of US while H4 extension is in process

My employer filed H1 & H4 extensions together in July 2016.  Later my H1 was converted into premium processing in Feb 2017 and it got approved. However, H4 extension is still in process since July 2016.

As per the USCIS site, USCIS is currently processing the applications received as of Dec 2, 2016. Till last week USCIS were processing applications received as of Aug 02, 2016. We were hoping that H4 applied in July 2016 will be processed.

I would like to know whether we can travel outside of US while H4 extension is in process and get H4 stamped.

How to reach out to USCIS to check the H4 application status as it is outside of the processing dates listed on their website?

Please advise.

You can travel and she can return with a H4 visa. FIRST run this by the company Lawyer who was involved in the PP.
