I-94 Extension at Loredo, Texas, POE

I have H1B petition approved on 01/17/2017 with new I-94 validity till 26 June 2020. I  traveled into the U.S on May 06 2017 . POE provided I-94 through 26 June 2017. CBP deferred office refused to correct the dates as acc. to them I-94 attached to 797 holds good. According to my attorney I will be out of status after 26 June 2017 unless I get I 94 corrected. If I go to US-Mexico border (Loredo, TX), can CBP correct my I-94 related to such an issue?
