Vamc123
I came to US in April 2016. I have H1B visa stamping till 2017, Dec 31st. I lost my job in Jan 2017, and within 60 days got a new employer to file my case. My case got Approved and received new i797B document with dates May 08, 2017 - Oct 17, 2018. My attorney suggested me to cross the border at Mexico & reenter to get new i94 generated. Q1) Is this required to do ? Q2) How is the scenario at CBP @ EL Paso,Mexico , as I m planning to exit US & reenter from there ? Thanks. Link to comment

If not, you have to cross the border and get a I-94 as you already have valid stamping. No issues. You can exit and enter from anywhere. Link to comment

One query though, will the CBP check the old employer in the visa and New employer in the i797B. Will they ask me to get a new stamping? Link to comment
