GC intiation - 6th year in H1B

Hi All,

Need your reply Urgently.

My H1B is set to expire in 15-Sep-2017. If my employer file the GC before my H1B expiry can I stay on H4 visa  for some time till my H4 EAD gets approved?

After what point Can i work on GC?

You can do that even  before September,15. You can work on the basis of a pending AOS when your Priority dates are current. That may take a while.

Thanks  a lot for the reply! It may be not be possible to go on to COS before September due to personal reasons.

so my question is if my I140 is applied now but is not approved by 15-Sep can I stay in US on H4 .When Can I get back to work on GC?
