Will my Green Card processing impact if I move back to India

I am in US on H1B for the past 5 years and have my I140 / PERM approved - waiting for priority date. My current visa extension (I797) is valid till 05/2019. I am thinking of moving back to India for a few months / about a year but wanted to know if -

• my current H1B visa (I797) be still valid till 05/2019 or whether it will expire due to me not being in US
• what will happen to my Green card processing - will that be terminated or will it continue to stay active

1. Once out of the USA H1 is immaterial to you. You will be able to get H1 extensions in future
2. That is up to the employer.
