Applying for 7th year H1 extension, I 140 approved but i am staying in india

Hi, I have my I 140 approved last year, my 6 th year H1 will be expired this nov, 2017. I am in india from last august due to personal reasons. My question is can i apply for my 7th year extension while staying in india?

2nd question is in case i don't get my extension will my GC process continue, please let me know

Based on an approved I-140 you would be eligible for H1 extensions beyond the initial total of 6 with no extension more than 3 years at one time.

Thanks for the reply, so even if i have been staying in india for an year also i can be eligible for H1 extensions?
