EAD on L1A on EB2

Hi,

I am and Indian citizen and currently on L1A visa and my company is willing to file my GC on EB2 category. I have two questions and will appreciate any response

1. Can I40 and I485 be applied concurrently while applying the GC for me

2. I understand this would take a considerably longer period before the priority date becomes current, can I at some point apply for EAD while waiting for PD to become current? This will help me in confirming that I can stay in US by extending my EAD periodically, without need of going back after 7 years
