Maanasa Veena
Hi everyone, I have to go to India on emergency due to my dad's critical health condition. I was aware of his health since a month and as there is no one to take care I decided to convert my H1B to H4 a week back so that I can stay for longer months to take care of him. Unfortunately, I came to know that his health is getting worse and I need to go to my home immediately in next 4 or 5 days. What is going to happen to my visa if I go during this processing time? How should I manage with my employer? What are all the other things that I should be concerned and to be known? I'm waiting for your answer. Please help me. Note: (My husband has H1B). H1bUse
If you are going to India why you have to convert your H1 to H4 in first place. Get the leave of absence letter from your employer and go to India. IMO you dont have to convert it from H1 to H4 just because you are going to India Link to comment
Maanasa Veena
So, you are saying I can get a leave of absence letter of 4 months - 5 months on my H1B to stay back and take care of him. No issue is going to happen to, right? Incase of Paystub running or H1B visa???? Link to comment
pontevecchio
H1 status does not apply when you are out of the country. Hence no need for stubs or leave when you are out of the country. Link to comment
