Will F-2 visa be issued if F-1 is expired?

Hi, 

I am currently on F-1 visa which is expiring end of August 2017. However my I-20 has end date of May 2018.

I am planning to visit India and get married in first week of August and return back to US before my visa expiry.  After marriage, my wife will be applying for F-2 visa. Since my F-1 visa will be on verge of expiry, will she be issued a F-2 visa?  If she is issued, how many years will it be valid?

She will be issued visa. Your I-20 drives the F-2 stamping not your visa.
