L1 A Blanket Extension options - VIsa beyond i-94 expiration

Hi,

I entered in US in Sep'14 on -

• L1 A Blanket Visa with visa expiry as Aug'19.
• At POE i-94 was issued until Sep-17.
• Blanket PED mentioned on visa as Aug'17.

My employer's deputation department told that they will file i-94 Extension and if I get approval notice then I don't need to go out for visa stamping.

Could you kindly help confirm what options i have to get i-94 extended based on my i-94.PED and Visa expiry situation?

Also, I'm not sure if it is an option to go out of US and renter to get new i-94 at POE , please advise.
