ntrivedi548 Posted February 21, 2017 Report Share Posted February 21, 2017 Hi, I am Mechanical Engineer with 7 years experience. Recently i got laid off due to oil and gas market downturn. I got laid of on 20 Jan 2017. My H-1b I -94 is expiring in march 21,2017 and my company also filed extension of my H1b in November which is approved in December . Extension H-1b , I-94 date is valid thru March 22, 2017 to March 21,2020. As i got laid off in january which I-94 expirition date I have to consider ? I already find job and they are going to file my h1b next week. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Nk Link to comment

pontevecchio Posted February 25, 2017 Report Share Posted February 25, 2017 Either the new company H1 approval will be with I94 if they ignore your days out of status from Jan,20. 2017, or the petition will be approved without I94 in which case you will need to leave and come back on the H1 visa.
