Desigirl79
Hi I got my Gc through a company A. but i was working in company B that time.My GC was approved but i continued my employment in company B. Now my GC is going to expire in 8 months.I never worked company A aftrer GC approved, is going to be a problem if i apply for GC renewal or Citizenship? Did anyone face the same kind of situation where i am now? What are the best options for me? Appreciate you in advance. Thanks. Link to comment
pontevecchio
GC "renewal" is a formality. So is Naturalization in most cases. Your best option is to discuss the actual specifics of the matter with a Lawyer. How long was your AOS pending? When did you join B in this time frame? Link to comment
my2239
It will be difficult to predict but I would say there may not be an issue My case (in case it gives any solace although it is slightly different than yours) A company called A filed for my GC I stayed with them for about 6 months after I got my GC and joined company B Filed my Citizenship while working for a company B The interview only asked where I currently work and never went into any details of if that was my GC sponsor Hope your case also goes fine Link to comment

There is a background check when the GC is renewed. That was a Murthy newsbrief in 2005 (http://murthy.com/news/n_carren.html I couldn't find it on their website anymore, but it is in the Web Wayback Archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20111121003025/http://murthy.com/news/n_carren.html) "In late November 2005, members of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) reported that their clients have been experiencing enforcement action connected to the filing of I-90 forms to request new green cards. The reports indicate that permanent residents with outstanding warrants for their arrest have been arrested, detained, or issued Notices to Appear (NTAs) during I-90 interviews. " So, it is possible that they check the employment history of the person. The OP indeed should consult with a good immigration lawyer. Link to comment
