N400 interview IRS extension

Hi , 

I am anticipating my citizenship interview to be around June 2017 . Due to some personal reasons, my documents/foreign income earned may get delayed and need to file an extension after April 15, 2017.  My question is , am i eligible to go the USCIS N400 interview with an approved extension from IRS ? I have all my previous 5 years of taxes filed and in compliance with IRS. 

Having an approved extension for the Citizenship interview, does it cause any issues ?  Please share if any one has experienced a similar situation.
