What to do when I-94 DATE < H1B Petition

Hi Friends, Need  your inputs on my case below:

I have H1B valid until Nov 2017.  I also have EAD/AP combo card which is valid until 03/03/2017

I travelled outside US last year and used AP to enter. My latest I-94 shows ADMIT UNTIL DATE: 12/12/2016.

I'm with same employer.  Is it true that admit until date on I-94 is 12/12/2016, supersedes H1 (I-797) notice date?

Do I need to apply for H1 renewal followed by EAD/AP renewal or I have to approach CBP to correct I-94 dates?

Please advice of what should be done in this case.

Why do you need to be in H1 status? The AP I94 means nothing. You are legal to stay based on pending AOS. If you return with the H1 visa and approved petition you will be back in H1 status. Why do you wish to do this?
