Qualification for drop box

Hi 

 

I have visa stamped for employer 1 in 2012 and the stamping was for 1year. After that I changed my employer 2 in Apr 2015, currently I have my H1B with Employer 2 valid until year 2018. I am going out of country so need to get my visa stamp with Employer 2. So my question is am I eligible for drop box at Hyderabad consulate?

If you qualify all below then you are good:
 

• I have a previous U.S. visa in the same class as the visa for which I wish to apply
• My most recent visa was issued in India
• I received my visa after January 1, 2008
• My prior visa is not annotated “Clearance Received” or “Department Authorization”.
• My most recent visa (in the same class for which I am applying) was issued on or after my 14th birthday
• I have no refusals for a visa in any class after my most recent visa issuance
• If I am applying for an H or L (individual) or R visa, my prior visa in the same class is still valid or expired within the last 12 months.

No, you are not eligible because your visa expired more than a year ago.

He is not eligible. As per his comment he got his I-797 aproved with employer B last year but he does not have a visa stamp.

Petition and I-94 with July 2018.

Am I eligible for dropbox? Or in person interview?

You don't need visa as you already have visa stamp till July 2017. If you are travelling after July 2017 then you need a visa. Below are the conditions for drop box stamping.
