I94 about to expire in 5 days, H1B valid till 2018, passport valid till 2019

Extremely urgent!!!

my I94 is expiring on july 2nd 2016. My first time H1B is valid from Oct 2015 to Aug 2018 and passport expiring in Aug 2019. What is the procesure to renew or expidiete the process of the new I94. I am not sure why they have isuued I94 only for six month. Immigration stamp on passport shows H1B Aug 31 2018 at port of entry stamp in Abu Dhabi. Kindly let me know the procedure to get new I94 as my H1B visa and passport both are valid and I have not applied for any extension or amendment yet. Also online I94 number and i797 i94 numbers are different. My last visit to India was in Dec 2015 and port of entry was Abu Dhabi 2nd Jan 2016.

Inform HR and involve the company Lawyer.  How did you get a paper I94? The stamp in the passport should be enough to ensure your legal stay.

If you are with the same employer. Go to Mexico or Canada(need visa) and come back you will get newi94 till your petition date. Or you have submit i539 form with USICS to get i94 extended. It takes 3-4 months.... If you apply and get acknowledgement then you are legal to stay. It's better to go for option 1. I did my i94 yesterday at otay Mesa (San Diego). Easy.... No need visa for Mexico
