I-797 validity

Hi,

I have my current I-797 valid until Aug. 05, 2016 and a new approved I-797 valid from Aug.06,2016 till 2019.

 

If I go for stamping to Mexico in July with the new I-797 receipt number mentioned in DS-160 application, how will they evaluate the application. Is it based on current I-797 or the new I-797?

Will they stamp the visa up to Aug.2016 or up to Aug.2019?

Or should I wait and go for stamping in Aug.?

Which receipt number should have been mentioned in DS160? Is there a way to change if required?

simple question ? -- did u already have stamped visa on ur passport for 5 Aug 2016 ? then no issue on which date u go for stamping.. if no stamping then ur visa is valid from 6 Aug 2016 , so u cant reenter usa before 6 Aug.. makes sense ? 

 

so i am guessing u dont have already visa stamped, so u have to go after 5 aug 2016 for stamping.

Make an application for the visa stamping based on the new petition. The new visa will be valid until 2019.

I assume you already have a visa stamped for your current petition. However, it depends on the petition used for the application.
