  1. Hi, I have submitted H-1B and H4 Visa renewal applications through the Bangalore Dropbox, but I entered the incorrect DS160 number with my wife's application. It has now been 9 days since the application was submitted, and I am unable to track the VISA status on the CEAC website. Additionally, I am unable to retrieve the incorrect DS160 confirmation number to review the details. I have already initiated a request for a DS160 correction through the USTravelDocs website, but I am somewhat concerned about the VISA stamping process, given that the application is currently in progress at the consulate. In addition to submitting the correction request, could you please advise on any other steps I can take in this situation? Furthermore, what are the potential implications of this issue for the VISA processing? Thank you.
  2. Much appreciate your response. It looks like there is no other workaround... Thank you!
  3. Greetings, fellow community members, I am seeking guidance regarding my brother's eligibility for naturalization (N400) based on his immigration history. In April 2005, he obtained his Green Card, which he then renewed in 2015. Since then, he has been traveling in and out of the United States on a re-entry permit, with each permit being approved for a 2-year duration. The majority of the time, he has been residing in the United States. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me determine when my brother will be eligible to file the application for naturalization. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
  4. Hi, My VISA stamping appointment was scheduled through Dropbox in Chennai for October 3rd, 2023. Unfortunately, after the recent update of the CGI portal, I have been unable to log in using my old account credentials, and the password reset option seems to be malfunctioning as well. Regrettably, customer care support has not been very helpful in resolving this matter. Despite the log in issue, I am relieved that I managed to successfully fill out and submit my DS160 form and secure a VISA appointment with the old portal. I am now considering going to the Dropbox appointment as planned, armed with the confirmation letter for the filled DS160 form. However, I'm facing a limitation since I cannot modify the appointment date or provide the DS160 number, given the login problem with the updated portal. I'm reaching out to inquire if anyone else has encountered a similar issue with the new CGI portal. If you have faced a similar challenge or have any insights on how to proceed further, I would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks
  5. as far as I have seen, if a new Visa is denied, Embassy will revoke or cancel all your active Visas too. So, I believe that once rejected, you cannot come back to States. I believe you must be available in the applied location for an interview. A change of location might be processed as a new visa appointment. In case of rejection, the only place you can travel back is to your home country or to the countries where you hold a valid visa. I prefer traveling back to my home country so that even if I have to wait more days will not cause any out-of-status or visa issues.
  6. Hi All, First of all thank you to this community for much help with right information during this immigration process. I wanted to bring my case to the table and gather any thoughts on this specific scenario. I came to India on a family emergency while my wife and son stayed back in USA. We did not travel as a family because my kid is too young to travel and it is an emergency that I have to come quickly to India. However, I do not have a valid VISA to travel back to States and I need to go through the stamping process. I was qualified for dropbox appointment and submitted required documents 4 weeks ago. Status check is showing "Application Received" and nothing has been changed since August 13, 2021. I was worried about this delay and my return to states. I need to go back early for my family is alone there and need my help to manage things. Couple of questions in this situation: 1. Some of my friends got VISA appointment and were able to get the VISA. is there any reason why few people case is stuck for long time? 2. Since this is pushing my dates further, there is a risk involved in my job as well. What are my options here to check with my firm legal team? 3. Is there anyway I can expedite this process or know more details on this case? Appreciate your help. Thank you so much!
  7. As per the instructions in travel.state.gov, parents who has US Citizen kids are exempted from this ban. However, you have to carry a COVID negative certificate to enter the Country with a valid VISA. parents or legal guardians of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident unmarried minor child https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/covid-19-travel-restrictions-and-exceptions.html
  8. Hi, I was in similar situation like you. I work for a client from my office location but not from client place. I was asked by Consulate( 221g in dropbox) to bring client letter, and detailed project description. My client won't provide me a letter as I work in my location, so my company gave me an explanation on company letter head stating the same with the signature from authoritative person. During interview, when Visa officer asked me for client letter, I gave her the letter provided by my company and explained the same. So, ask your company to provide an official communication on a company letter head. Wish you all the best! Thanks
  9. Hi Guys, I am sharing my experience with this community so that who were in same boat will get some details and knowledge on this process. I was working with an employer since 2016 and I got my visa stamped for the same employer in Feb 2017 (from Dropbox to Personal Interview via 221g slip). Reason for 221g slip during Feb 2017 was asking my Company tax documents which we provided and cleared the process. After 2 years, I came to visit India again while working for same employer with valid petition from Feb 2019 to Jan 2022. This time I thought it will go smoothly because a) Visa stamped prior with same employer. b) Embassy verified my employer documents in my last visit. However, I got 221g blue slip again asking me to attend for personal interview and bring the following documents From Petitioner: a) copy of supported documents filed with USCIS b) Recent letter from US client company ( client letter) c) Technical Description of project, timelines, status etc.. From Me: d) W-2 for last two years My employer took almost 2 weeks of time to get above documents to me. I attended my interview on 12th September in Chennai Consulate. It was unusually large number of people for Visa stamping, and this time they had separate line for 221g blue slips. Most people got their 221g in dropbox option and we are not considered as regular stamping interview candidates. Below is the process they followed: * Inside Consulate, they have not allowed smart watches along with mobile phones. My family left me at the gate and security inside consulate asked me to make my own arrangements for storing smart watch, which I have no clue what to do at that point. Deposit Box persons wont accept smart watches to store, its only for mobile phones. I had to come out from consulate and request deposit box persons a lot to keep my watch with them. * We were asked to sit separately from the regular folks, and we were sent once in a while when regular crowd is reduced. * They did ten printing again in the consulate, and they wrote counter number on top of our 221g slips. ( Probably those counters were specialized in handling these cases) * 221g blue slips had a separate queue at the interview windows and among the two cases before me had given 221g again and one was rejected. * I went to the Officer and she seems to be very serious and my interview went almost for 20 minutes. Me: Good Morning Officer VO: Good Morning VO: Please give me your 221g and PP. Have you brought all the documents we asked? Me: Yes mam. VO: Please handover your entire file packet to me Me: Sure. (I handed it over to her through the glass window) VO: Tell me about your company Me: Gave company details VO: What is the size of your company, and where is the physical location? Me: It's approximately 300 employees and it is located in Arlington, VA. VO: Give me client letter Me: To which I replied, that we are not outsourcing consulting firm, but an IT consulting firm which means we do not work at client location but we work at our own office. VO: I understand sir, you work for a client and you must have a client letter Me: I explained her again about IT consulting firm, and shown the letter my company gave on why don't have client letter ( on official letter head with CEO signature) VO: Which means you don't have a client letter? Me: Yes mam VO: Please explain what you do in the company? Me: Explained my job description and my work in my project. VO: Tell me your client name? Me: Gave her my client details VO: Tell me more about your work activities? Me: Gave her detailed technical description of my work VO: Do you have physical office in States? Me: Yes mam, it is in Arlington, VA. While interviewing me, Officer had a colleague standing beside her watching the entire process. Officer took time to explaining her the steps right from the beginning till the end of the interview. I thought she might be shadowing this officer on how to do these interviews. VO: Please explain me about your client and where do they reside? Me: gave client company details and where are they are physically located. VO: Give me your I-129 Me: Since she is holding my file packet, I told her where it is in the documents. VO: Give me your W2's and Pay stubs Me: I gave her my 3 months recent pay stubs and last 3 years W2's VO: Where do you live in States? Me: I told her where I live VO: Are you married? Me: Yes VO: Do you have children? Me: Yes, and I have 2 children VO: Are they born in States? Me: Yes mam. VO: Do you know your rights in States? Me: Yes mam. VO: Your documents are approved and you can collect your visa in 3 to 5 business days. Me: Thank you officer! During this process, I thought for a moment that she is not willing to give me visa, but by God's grace she approved mine. I came out and collected my smart watch from the deposit store ( no need to give money, it is a free service offered by cops). My advice to everyone who are in 221g is, please carry out all the documents with you whether it is necessary or not necessary. Better to be safe than sorry. Visa Tracking Status August 21st: Dropbox August 22nd: Administrative Processing August 29th: Passport returned with 221g blue slip September 12th: Personal Interview September 16th: Status changed to Issued. Wish you guys all the best!

  11. Hi, please let us know if you have any update on your case. thanks
  12. Hi, I also got 221g blue slip in dropbox and waiting for couple of documents from my company attorney before attending interview (fingers crossed). I was asked to bring all the supporting docs submitted to USCIS for my H1b, client letter, project details and w2's for 2 years. I am curious what documents have they asked you in first 221g and second 221g? It will be helpful for others who were in same situation to know the details. wish you all the best! Thanks
  13. Hey Guys, Today I collected my passport from Bangalore VFS center, and I got 221g blue slip asking me to attend for personal interview and bring the following documents From Petitioner: a) copy of supported documents filed with USCIS b) Recent letter from US client company ( client letter) c) Technical Description of project, timelines, status etc.. From Me: d) W-2 for last two years Preparing documents and planning to attend next week. I work for my company and not in client place, so not sure what kind of client letter I should carry if I don't work at their place. Appreciate any inputs. Thanks
  14. Hi, I have a scenario where my case status in CEAC is "Administrative Processing" and my USTraveldocs status is "Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery". Does that mean I got 221G slip? To give some additional details, I was working with this employer since 2016 and I got visa stamped for the same employer in Feb 2017 (from Dropbox to Personal Interview via 221g slip). Reason for 221g slip during Feb 2017 was asking my Company tax documents which we provided and cleared the process. After 2 years, I came to visit India again while working for same employer with valid petition from Feb 2019 to Jan 2022. This time I thought it will go smoothly because a) Visa stamped prior with same employer. b) Embassy verified my employer documents. However, not sure whats going on this time with CEAC Status as "Administrative Processing" while my passport is available for pickup? Also, not sure if this matters, but this is my 1st extension after fulfilling 6 years of H-1B. My I-140 is approved as well. Thanks
