My Full time employment on H1B ended Jan 31st and I believe I have till March 31st (This month end, 60 days) to get a job and have H1 transfer applied if I want to remain on h1. If I want to change to my GC EAD what do I need to do (Applications etc)? My wife is also on H4 EAD. What does she have to do too to change to GC EAD? And How long can I remain unemployed and not have my wife's and my status affected? I am yet to find a job. Thanks in advance

My mom got her green card. What is the rule regarding how long she can be way from U.S? Is it a year? Or does she have to be here in the U.S every 6 months in a calendar year?

Can he give fingerprints at Hyderabad, India and attend interview at Chennai, India (A different city) since visa slots are hard to get? Is that ok? Do we have to change anything in ds160?

Hi Folks, I accidentally booked my dad's ticket a week after the 180 days stay limit instead of before. I am still not sure how I did that. But when my dad went to India, a week later, he got a call from someone saying from consulate and that his visa got cancelled due to overstay by 7 days. I am applying for a new visa for my dad now and have few questions - 1). Is there a place online where we can see if the visa is still valid or really cancelled? I know it may very well be cancelled as we got a phone call but just wanted to double check as there was nothing written received in mail. How can I confirm it? 2). Last time dad went to Hyderabad for visa stamping so should we qualify for drop off now? I don't see the drop off option or anything that says drop off and the VFS site is asking to book for OFC and Consular appointment. Where should it be ideally saying about drop off? 3). In Ds160 and the Port on VFS site, we selected location as Hyderabad. Can we book OFC and Consular appointments anywhere else too? One at Chennai and another at Mumbai? Since the dates are so far away? 4). Last time my sister sponsored visitor visa but this time, I am doing it. Is that ok? My mom has GC, my sister is a citizen and my 485 is in process. Will that effect my dad's visitor visa application? 5). I am in the process of applying 485 and gave fingerprints. In my dad's ds 160 I did not specify myself as permanent resident since I did not get it yet. Is that ok? After submitting the ds160, and before visa appointment what if I get GC, what do I do then? 6). Can I book appointment on VFS site before submitting DS-160 and just the number received for the DS-160 while filling it? Please advise.

Hi Folks, I have received receipts for I-131,I-485, and I-765 but my wife received receipt notices for only I-131, and I-485. I-765 receipt notice is missing for her. Is this normal? Our attorney says they did file I-765 for my wife too but not sure why the receipt notice is not received and that is all the information they are giving us unfortunately. Did anyone encounter similar issue? My wife is currently on h4 and has h4 EAD and is currently working. We also received biometric appointments and are due next week. Is not receiving i-765 notice going to hurt us? How do we approach this situation? Please advise. Thanks

Hi All, My Job title in LCA states Senior Software Developer but my Title in my outlook with my employer Says Senior Software Engineer. I had specified Senior Software Engineer in DS-160 as well and the employment verification letter I am supposed to get soon will probably mention Senior Software Engineer as well. Will this be a problem? If VO asks me my Job title, what should I say? Also, do you think it is better to get an employment verification letter that states Senior Software Engineer/Developer? Please advise.

Hi Folks, I recently moved to a new employer about a year back and I am going for my visa stamping in India soon. Previously I was with a consultancy for 12 years and they used to give an envelope with all the documents needed and I did not specifically had to ask for any. Now that I am full time, I am being told I need to request for documents and they will provide them. Can you give me a list of documents I need to get from my employer and any from previous employer as well? Thanks

Hi Folks, If I move employer, do I have to file for my wife's h4 and h4 ead again? Will it be a problem for my wife's stamping if I do not? Also, Do Visa officials require my employer experience letter for my wife's stamping? Please advise
