  1. Most consulting companies do not have internal projects. It takes a lot of money to develop a product, and if the employer has that kind of money, it would be unlikely they would be in the cut-throat, low-margin consulting business. And quite frankly, a 4-page "market analysis" isn't a market analysis. Startup companies usually create 60+-page documents trying to show that their proposed product has a chance in the market to get venture capital.
  2. Anything said in an interview is now in the file. It will come up in future interviews. No real university advertises CPT, so it is obvious that this is a shady, fraud institution. Only applying at a real university, and going to study for real would help.
  3. So, why does she want to change to F1, if not for getting OPT at the end?
  4. Lawyers cost money. If you don't want to spend the money, you don't have a case. It is THAT simple. As I said, you'd be throwing good money after bad. You need to start listening to what people tell you...
  5. No, he can NOT say that unless it was actually true, and his post already showed that it would be a lie. You advise him to see a good lawyer, and in the next sentence, you tell him to lie... These two things don't work together. A lie can result in a lifelong ban!
  6. Forgot one line: You and your employer need to see a good immigration lawyer ASAP!
  7. The LCA always needs to list the work location. In your case, that's your home. Your employer screwed that up big time.
  8. That quote would not apply because the child wasn't born to your spouse. You need to see a lawyer who has handled such situations.
  9. Do the people abroad have APs or H1s or H4s? If not, their I-485s would be abandoned.
  10. So, you were greedy and only looked at the salary offered instead of the whole package... You should have left as soon as they started to do fishy things. Other than filing a complaint with DOL, why do you want to throw good money after bad? A lawsuit costs a lot of money, and the outcome isn't sure. Consider this a lesson learned the hard way.
  11. You don't seem to have any clue about what a PhD means. It certainly is not a "shortcut" to get an H1. A PhD is about research. You would spend a couple of years eat, drink and sleep the research. This is not like taking some classes. And of course, doing anything at a shady university would not help you at all. It is obvious that you haven't learned the lesson yet. Avoid these shady or outright fraud "universities."
  12. Ahh, another one who tried to "save money" and ended up killing his career in the US. You get what you pay for, and that means you being cheap cost you your life's career. Good riddance.
  13. Stratford IS a cheap and really bad institution. You still try to deflect blame. You are still not taking responsibility, you just try cheap excuses. A degree from that or similar institutions has no value. It just is a waste of time and money.
  14. So, you didn't do your homework. That confirms what has been said. It all started with YOUR wrong decision. You wanted a cheap degree. And now you found out the hard way that it came with a much steeper price tag than a REAL university would have. Take responsibility for your decisions, and don't blame others/USCIS/etc. It started with YOUR decision.
  15. I have yet to see a degree from a for-profit university that has value... t75 is right, you went for a cheap degree. You have now found out that this cheap degree ended up costing you way more than if you had gone to a public university (or a non-profit private university, like Stanford or USC...) It all started with *your* decision to sign up with a for-profit institution. Such institutions, even the accredited ones, care about your money, they don't care about anything else. It all started with *your* decision. Take responsibility for your decisions, and don't blame others.
  16. Only if he is outside the US for a year. Applying before that would just be an extension of the current petition.
  17. For a new petition in the quota, you would have to be outside the US for one year.
  18. Avoid CPT. That will only kill your career in the US. Or do you like getting deported and banned for life?
  19. Very unlikely, since to be able to file a new H1 petition under the quota, the person has to be abroad for a year.
  20. That doesn't make it an integral part of the curriculum. It would have to be required by a course. And that means you can't just work for some consulting company, doing some arbitrary work for a client. This kind of abuse of CPT always comes back to bite. That's why people need to stay away from these fraud schools. They are only interested in your money.
  21. Indeed. The bottom line is, get a good lawyer, one who knows the rules. Even if a particular rule may not be enforced right now, it may be later, and then you get into trouble. And approvals can be revisited even decades later. There is no statute of limitation in the immigration law. If an application was approved in error, it can always be rescinded.
  22. Issued by federal law enforcement officers. That would indeed only apply to National Parks and the like. Park rangers have police powers within the parks, and park rangers in National Parks are federal employees.
  23. That is STILL illegal. On H1, you can ONLY work for your employer in the US. You can NOT do any side business, not even for a company you co-own. The company could sell things, but you have to stay completely out of it. On H1, you can ONLY be a passive investor.
  24. It's about if you are a member or have contributed to organizations like IEEE, ACM, Red Cross, etc.
  25. You are unlikely to get an F1, due to the I-140. The F1 doesn't allow immigration intent, but the I-140 shows that you have immigration intent. With an I-140, forget about F1 once and for all.
