    You will need to reapply for GC I believe . They will not get a new visitor visa.

    Does anyone know how long it actually takes for the NVC to schedule a immigrant visa interview date in Mumbai after they accept all the documents? The state gov website says 2-3 months but other places on the net say that it may take about a year in India . My mothers documents were accepted in August and 3 months are over with no news …

    He can wait in the country during the MTR process .

    I suggest you wait for the result ... OPT can now be extended for 3 years. Don't waste it.

    H1B is a dual purpose visa...you can have immigration intent.What is there to be scared of?..they cannot reject you based on that.
